【Abstract】 The mergence of the zhi and wei rhymes into the yu rhyme(支微人鱼)means that thecharacters of the zhi group with the medial[u](division Ⅲ)(止摄合口三等)are pronounced asthose of the yu group with the medial[u](division Ⅲ)(遇摄合口三等).This phenomenon existsnot only in dialects in the Huaihe River basin and the areas to the south of the Yangtze River,butalso in the dialects in Shanxi,Shaanxi,and Gansu.The phenomenon can be traced back to theNorthwestern dialects during the Tang and The Five Dynasties.更多还原
